Horse & Hound is to continue its sponsorship of the Senior Foxhunter Championship at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) for a further two years — until 2014.
This year will mark the 19th time the magazine has supported this prestigious competition.
The series is widely regarded as a benchmark for assessing young equine talent. Three-times winner William Funnell, who won last year’s final on Billy Balou, had previously triumphed on Mondriaan in 2001. The gelding went on to win the Hickstead Derby a record three times.
Oswin Grady of IPC Media, publisher of H&H, commented: “Horse & Hound is delighted to continue its sponsorship of the prestigious Foxhunter Championship. We wish everyone competing in this year’s series the best of luck and look forward to a thrilling final in October.”
Helena Pettit of Grandstand Media Ltd, organiser of HOYS, add
ed: “The Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter is one of the most highly sought-after championship titles at HOYS, having become synonymous with true emerging talent within our novice horse ranks. Supporting the class’s heritage and stature, Horse & Hound is the perfect partner.”
This year’s show takes place from 9-13 October at Birmingham’s NEC. Tickets are now on sale. Visit: www.hoys.co.uk.
