Most expensive horse at 2012 PSI auction is not bound for Britain

  • The most expensive horse at the 2012 Performance Sales International (PSI) auction in Germany (9 December), Sa Coeur, will not come to the UK, despite the sale’s initial press release claiming he would.

The bay Sir Donnerhall/Don Davidoff gelding, who was the 2012 five-year-old world breeding championships winner, fetched €2,310,000.

It has been confirmed that his new owners — who wish to remain anonymous — will keep him in training Eva Möller at Hof Kasselmann in Germany.

The second most expensive horse — the five-year-old licensed stallion Don Noblesse (Dancier/Don Davidoff) — also fetched over €1m. He went to America clients for €1,220,000 and will stand at Ingo Pape’s stallion station in Hemmoor, Germany.

The highest priced showjumper and the third highest priced overall was Altesse Gold, a six-year-old Armitage/Landgold mare. She made €800,000.

The average price of the 45 dressage and showjumping horses was €346,222 and the total revenue produced was €15,580,000.
