Ralph Mitchell died suddenly on Tuesday, 20 November while hunting with the Grove and Rufford. He was 69.
He joined the mastership of the Grove and Rufford for a third time this season and was master of the Barlow from 1991-94.
Hunt chairman Bill Eastwood said: “Ralph threw everything into [being a master], opening up long forgotten country and conjuring magical days out of minimal raw material.”
He leaves his partner, Sally, and his son from a previous marriage, John.
