Man and two horses die in road crash in Yorkshire

  • A man and two horses have died in a road accident in West Yorkshire.

The crash happened yesterday morning (Tuesday 16 October) at 5.39am on the A58 in Sowerby Bridge.

The man was driving a Saab and died at the scene. Both horses were also killed.

Detective Sgt Carole Clayton from West Yorkshire Police is appealing for information.

At this stage we are unable to rule out that the horses have been let out of their enclosure,” she said. “We would ask that all horse owners in and around this area check their fences and enclosures and if there have been any attempts made to remove their horses to contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) on 101.”
