Training seminar for young point-to-point jockeys

  • A training seminar for young point-to-point jockeys is being held at Kelso racecourse next month.

The seminar, on Sunday 11 November, has been organised by the Northern Area Point-to-Point Association for aspiring young jockeys.

Former top National Hunt jockey Peter Scudamore will be among speakers sharing knowledge about the sport.

Point-to-Point Owners and Riders Association representative and Scottish trainer Nick Alexander said: “This is an excellent initiative – a structured training day will be hugely useful to many involved in point-to-pointing.”

The seminar is targeted at first season jockeys but other novice riders are welcome. It’s not restricted to NPPA hunts, and the organisers hope for interest from young riders based in Yorkshire.

The seminar will run from 10am to 1pm (with a light lunch provided) at Kelso racecourse.
