1 He was bred in Germany by Gestut Brummerhof, breeder of last season’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Danedream, and won four German 10f Flat races before coming to the UK.
2 He’s had three UK trainers – Charlie Mann, who bought him from Germany, Philip Hobbs and Cherry Coward.
3 Together with fellow 33-1 scorers Woodside Terrace (1965) and Zemsky (2011), he is one of the three longest-priced Christie’s Foxhunter winners since World War II.
4 He was the last of Jack Joseph’s 294 winners before his former owner’s death in December 2006.
5 He wears specially designed boots made by Jacqueline’s mother on his hindlegs. Before it became mandatory for the middle rail on fences to be padded, he would scrape his skin off down to the bone!
