At yesterday’s Myerscough 2012 Futurity evaluation, three Elite premiums were attained, with the highest score of the day going to showjumping foal, Millfield Ballet Dancer (pictured).
Bred by Sue Jaggar and Brian Thompson from Millfield Stud, Millfield Ballet Dancer earned an elite premium with an impressive score of 9.19. The filly foal is by the successful showjumping stallion Balou Du Rouet out of Pretty Woman, by Caretino.
The Millfield Stud has been attending the Futurity evaluations since their inauguration in 2005.
“Pretty Woman has produced three elite foals, one of which was Millfield Ballerina, who has the same breeding as Ballet Dancer,” said Sue. “We chose to use Balou Du Rouet again as we were so impressed with the first foal.”
Pretty Woman competed in young horse classes in Germany before coming to the North Yorkshire-based Millfield Stud and her latest foal has already been sold to a showjumping home.
An elite premium with a score of 9.18 went to On Call, owned and bred by Richard and Alyse Clancey. On Call, by Lux Z out of former advanced eventer On Fire, by Welton Apollo, was the highest scoring eventing foal.
The day’s third elite premium was awarded to another Millfield Stud foal; this time the showjumping colt foal, Millfield Moritz, who scored 9.11. Millfield Moritz is by Mylord Carthago out of Con Versace, by Contender.
The top scoring yearling was Wishful, earning a higher first premium of 8.98 in the dressage. Wishful is owned by Cathryn Dutton and was bred by Fosshey Stud in Cheshire. The bay filly is by the British-based stallion Wolkenderry out of Lady, by Lancier.
FEH Vegas was the highest scoring two-year-old, earning a higher first and score of 8.75 in dressage. The dark bay colt is owned by David Corbit and was bred by Frazer Hood. He is by Painted Black, out of KWPN mare Roulette, by Flemmingh.
Top scoring three-year-old was Chloe Procter’s Ella Utopia AFS, who earned a first premium and scored 8.44 in the dressage section. The mare is by Santana out of Anestesia Utopia, by United.
