Philip Donnelly, whipper-in of the Goldburn Beagles in Co Meath, has been elected chairman of the Hunting Association of Ireland (HAI).
He replaces Donal Boyle, who has come to the end of his term of office.
Originally from Co Kildare, Mr Donnelly started beagling in England with the Trinity and South Herts.
He has also been whipper-in, honorary secretary and kennelman of the Curragh Foot Beagles.
For a number of years he has been the Irish Masters of Beagles Association representative to the HAI.
