Superstar racehorse Frankel has been given the all-clear after passing a leg scan yesterday (Wednesday 18 April).
Rumours were last week circulating that the unbeaten four-year-old might be retired after injuring himself on the gallops last week (Wednesday 11 April).
Frankel reportedly struck into himself and suffered a tendon injury to his off-fore.
But it was confirmed yesterday that Frankel has been walking and trotting the past few days, and trainer Sir Henry Cecil intends Frankel to resume work this weekend.
“The scan showed his tendon and its sheath to be 100%. We’ll feel our way with him,” he told press.
Frankel, who is owned by Prince Khalid Abdullah, has recorded nine straight wins in his career including the 2000 Guineas, Sussex Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
And his run in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on 19 May has not been ruled out by connections.
