Horse & Hound forum wins “best equestrian social network” award


  • Horse & Hound has won the Equestrian Social Media Award (ESMA) for “best equestrian social network” for our forum.

    The PagePlay Equestrian Social Media Awards (ESMAs) were set up in 2010 to bring together the global equestrian community and show the benefits of social media for horse lovers and businesses.

    Winners for this year’s awards will be announced throughout the week.

    The judges commented on H&H’s win: “The widest variety of chat conversations of all. Allows you to access specific information easily. And has active users – when you post something you get a response quickly.”

    Carol Phillips, H&H website editor said: “I’m delighted that the H&H forum has won the 2012 ESMA for best social network. Whether you are looking for advice, support or just to bounce ideas off like-minded individuals, it’s THE place to visit.”

    Best use of Facebook went to TheHorse.com, best use of social media by a rider attire brand was won by Ariat and best of social media by an event/competition went to Badminton Horse Trials.

    The best use of social media in Central America went to Equestrian Lifestyle Magazine and Mundo Equestre took the South America award.

    “Social media has proved itself to be a revolutionary communications tool, which has beenembraced by the global equestrian community. Love of the horse transcends borders, seas, and language. Social media has allowed global equestrians toconnect in ways never before seen,” said Liam Killen from the ESMA team.
