World Horse Welfare is hosting its 15th annual farriery competition in May.
The competition takes place between Friday 25-Sunday 27 May at Belwade Farm in Aberdeenshire.
Six-times world champion in farriery, Grant Moon is running a clinic on the Friday and will be judging the classes during thetwo-day competition over the weekend.
The event is in celebration of the charity’s 85th anniversary, and the opening of new purpose-built indoor school and visitor centre.
The farriery event is open to all farriers and is being organised by World Horse Welfare Farrier Donald Nicol.
“I would encourage all farriers to come along as it’s a really fun competition with no pressure,” said Mr Nicol. “Last year’s event was a great success with a good turnout of apprentices which is very encouraging.
“Members of the public are welcome to come along and watch as it’s really interesting to see so many farriers at work at the same time, and in such a fantastic location.”
