Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Royal Windsor Horse Show.
The 2012 event, held at Windsor Castle, runs from 9-13 May.
More than 3,000 horses and ponies, including those belonging to The Queen, are due to take part in over 170 classes – including showjumping, showing, the international driving grand prix, the Pony Club mounted games and tent pegging. There will also be more than 200 shops.
This year’s five-day show kicks off with hunter showing classes and the Horse & Hound Foxhunter showjumping competition on Wednesday 9 May and finishes with the The Alltech Grand Prix on Sunday 13 May.
And this year to celebrate The Queen’s diamond jubilee, 500 horses and 800 performers from 17 countries will gather at Windsor Castle for a special event.
“The World Comes To Windsor” will be an equine extravaganza to celebrate the 250 state and Commonwealth visits The Queen has made during her 60-year reign. Though there is very limited ticket availability.
The box office for the horse show opened at 10am today (Wednesday 25 January). Tickets are priced from £10.
