Could you be a candidate for a hunting fellowship?

  • Would you like to tackle some academic research with a hunting bias?

If so, the National Sporting Library, near Washington DC would like to hear from you.

The library – a research institution specialising in field sports – is looking for applicants for fellowship places to start in 2012.

Applications are invited from university students in humanities and social sciences, museum and library staff, journalists and independent scholars.

Past projects include hunting imagery in 18th-century French portraiture, the history of women in horse sports and early modern horsemanship.

Applications must be received by 1 February.
