Farewell to Coniston huntsman Owen Balding


  • Coniston huntsman Owen Balding, 49, died at home on
    18 November.

    He had been suffering from cancer. He leaves a wife, Rosslyn and four children.

    Mr Balding joined the Coniston in May 2009 after 14 seasons as huntsman of the North Tyne.

    Raised in Glaisdale in North Yorkshire, his first hunting job was as kennelman to the Holderness, followed by time at the York and Ainsty (South) and eight seasons with the Derwent.

    His funeral took place on 29 November in Ambleside.
