The former secretary of the British Horse Society (BHS), John Blackmore died on 1 October aged 94.
Mr Blackmore was also an “efficient and popular” secretary for more than 20 years of the Royal International Horse Show at White City and Horse of the Year Show when it started up a few years later.
He joined the BHS as show secretary while it was based in Bedfordshire and in its early years at Stoneleigh.
