Haddon Training rated “outstanding” in Ofsted inspection

  • Haddon Training Limited — which provides training for students in horse and animal care — as been rated “outstanding” in a recent Ofsted Inspection.

The Wiltshire-based organisation provides specialist teaching in the equine, animal and saddlery industries and trains students for work-based diplomas and apprenticeships. It was awarded Grade 1 standard in the inspection.

The inspectors concluded that the outcome for learners, leadership and management of Haddon was outstanding. They also deemed that the organisation provided both learners and employers with good value for money.

Haddon Training was originally started as a dedicated training arm of Haddon Stud in Manton. The stud was founded by Christopher Hewlett and known for producing National Hunt and event horses. He then developed a training side of the business.

“Almost all the employers I speak to within our industry need staff with practical skills that can also offer them the 3Cs to successfully run their business — competence, consistency and commercial speed. This is what we deliver to our apprentices.”
