Bramham Horse Trials raises £30,000 for charity

  • Bramham International Horse Trials has raised more than £30,000 for its 2011 nominated charities.

The £30,395 raised will be split equally between the Household Calvary Operational Casualties Fund and the local Yorkshire regiment of the “Welfare for Wounded Warriors” Benevolent Fund.

Representatives from the two charities were on site (2-5 June) during the event to collect donations and raise awareness of their work.

Both organisations provide a support system and point of contact for bereaved families, and injured soldiers and their families, when returning from active duty.

In an attempt to raise an extra £10,000, jewellers Ogden of Harrogate is selling limited edition steel and leather bracelets in the colours of the Household Calvary and of the Yorkshire regiment.

Bramham director Nicholas Pritchard said: “We are very grateful for everyone’s generosity in supporting such worthy causes and are delighted to have raised such a good amount.”
