A horse has died in Lincolnshire after breaking its neck running into a tree.
The horse was reportedly spooked by a car near Hewitts Circus in Cleethorpes and ran headlong into the tree yesterday (Thursday 14 July).
The horse, called Rocky, had been pulling a scrap metal cart when it spooked at a passing vehicle.
Police said he broke his neck and died instantly.
Owner Shaun Francis Norris, from Grimsby, told local press: “We have had the horse for two years. He was my livelihood as I work as a rag-and-bone man. He was as quiet as a mouse and a lovely animal.”
