First Thought Equine is first H&H advertiser to use QR codes

  • The first Horse & Hound display advert to feature a QR (quick response) code will be published in this Thursday’s (16 June) issue on page 47.

By using a QR code reader on their smart phone, magazine readers will be able to watch H&H dressage columnist Richard Davison’s Munich grand prix test on Hiscox Artemis as well as a product video, and download the brochure for WOW saddles.

Inspired by Horse & Hound editor Lucy Higginson’s editorial in the 2 June issue, First Thought Equine, designers and manufacturers of WOW saddles and Flair air flocking, decided to look at how technology can aid conveying information in adverts.

David Kempsell, managing director of First Thought Equine, said: “Technology has moved forward dramatically in the last few years. It’s scary how very simple it is to use this latest development and the amount of information that is immediately available.

“Where as in the past we have struggled to highlight all the advantages of our products on paper, now we can do so easily and quickly.”
