Some of the UK’s top vets are coming to an event near you — on the back of a motorbike.
Vets with Horsepower is a team of motorbiking vets, who raise money for charity by giving educational talks to owners on a variety of horse health issues at venues around the country.
Last year, the group raised £100,000 for the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA) and the British Equine Veterinary Association Trust.
This time they are fund-raising for SPANA again and World Horse Welfare.
Ten topics will be under discussion at each talk, ranging from skin problems and colic to headshaking and obesity.
“This is an amazing and unique opportunity for horse owners to get concentrated information from some of the best vets in the country,” said Prof Derek Knottenbelt, who heads the group.
The four venues hosting talks are Hartpury College, Glos (18 July), Hall Farm, Norfolk (19 July), Bishop Burton College, East Yorks (20 July) and Oatridge College, West Lothian (21 July).
Tickets cost £30 and each talk starts at 9.30am.
