Cheryl Myers, a 31-year-old photographer from Surrey, has won £500 of travel vouchers with her black and white photograph of riders in Kyrgyzstan.
Cheryl was in the former Soviet state of Kyrgyzstan in August 2009, on an In The Saddle trip.
She captured the action in a game of Ulak Tartysh, a variation of polo in which riders compete to snatch up the corpse of a headless goat and toss it into a target circle.
With its varied and photogenic landscapes, Kyrgyzstan is a popular destination for off-the-beaten-track riding holidays.
The official prize was a Canon EOS 1000D SLR Camera, but Cheryl, who already has a pretty decent camera, asked for vouchers towards a future In The Saddle riding holiday instead.
Into The Lens equestrian photographer Simon Palmer judged hundreds of entries.
“When I saw this picture I felt that I was eavesdropping on the lives of another culture,” he said.
