Sprenger has launched the KK Ultra Butterfly Bit (£195), aimed at horses with high head carriage.
The company says that the bit “has been created to offer a light Pelham action with the invitation of softness via the infamous KK Ultra mouthpiece”.
The bit is made from oxidized Aurigan, a nickel-free copper alloy, which Spenger says is a distinctive taste that encourages horses to chew and produce saliva.
The KK Ultra mouthpiece incorporates a shorter lozenge in the middle of the bit to accommodate the narrow palate, and a 45 degree angle of the link, intended to ensure that the rounded link resets fully on the tongue without squeezing.
The Sprenger KK Ultra Duo Butterfly Bit (£185) is similar in design, but with a mild straight bar action.
