Pippa Funnell has topped the Intelligent Worming leading horse and rider rankings at the end of the 2010 Point Two South East Eventers’ League Championship.
Pippa regularly features in this series, which is in its 15th year and is for registered riders and horses stabled in Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and Essex, who accumulate points towards different categories at certain events in the area.
Surrey-based Pippa triumphed this time with Jane and Jonathan Clarke’s eight-year-old Billy Landretti (pictured), who clocked up a sixth in an advanced at Highclere and two open intermediate wins at Eridge and South of England.
French rider Sidney Dufresne, who lives in Berkshire, was second with Looping De Buissy, also picking up first place in the WOW leading owner rider chart.
Pippa Funnell also took the first prize in the mares’ and intermediate classifications, both with Barbara and Nicholas Walkinshaw’s Billy Shannon.
Sam Penn and the Slice of Pie Syndicate’s Tickeridge won the Baileys Horse Feeds’ overall grass-roots rankings. This has been a good year for last year’s British Eventing (BE) four-year-old champion, who also topped the BE rankings for horses picking up foundation points in the scheme’s inaugural year.
