BHS moves to new £3million headquarters in Stoneleigh

  • The British Horse Society (BHS) moved into its new, environmentally friendly HQ at Stoneleigh today (1 November).

The BHS has been in temporary accommodation while the motley collection of buildings, dating from the 1930s and 1960s, that was their former home, was transformed into a £3million new base.

“Whereas the old, dilapidated office was oppressive and airless in the hot summer months and ruinously expensive to heat in winter, the new HQ is a model of environmental sustainability,” said BHS chief executive Graham Cory.

“For years we have asked staff and volunteers serving on our advisory committees to work in gloomy, depressing conditions which were scarcely tolerable — except for the mice and fleas which, by all the evidence, found the place very much to their liking!

“Now we have a working environment which is bright, airy and pleasant.”
