The showjumping team selected to represent Great Britain at the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Kentucky is as follows:
- Scott Brash and Intertoy Z
- Tina Fletcher and Hello Sailor
- David McPherson and Chamberlain Z
- Michael Whitaker and GIG Amai II
The non-travelling reserve is Robert Smith with Talan.
Commenting on his choice of riders, performance manager Rob Hoekstra said: “The team for WEG is very much part of the development of the squad for 2012 and we have selected horses that have performed well in the Meydan FEI Nations Cup.
“Michael will be the experienced hand in the team; Scott and Tina will benefit enormously from experiencing their first championship, while David has championship experience but takes an inexperienced horse.
“It is an exciting team for the future and part of the road to 2012.”
The World Equestrian Games take place in Kentucky, USA, from 25 September to 10 October with the showjumping taking place from 4-9 October.
