Event rider Harry Meade is set to marry his girlfriend Rosie Bradford after popping the question at last week’s Badminton Horse Trials.
Harry got down on one knee to 30-year-old primary school teacher Rosie Bradford at the Gloucestershire horse trials last week — and she accepted.
“After retiring Midnight Dazzler [at the age of 20 at the end of April] I didn’t have anything to ride at Badminton, and since we live in the next-door village, Rosie suggested we walk over and have a look at the course the day before the competitors arrived,” said Harry.
“I’d been waiting for the right moment to propose for some time, it was a beautiful evening and the park was empty. With hindsight it seems rather appropriate.”
The couple, who live together in Luckington, plan to tie the knot in Rosie’s home village of Yanworth, Gloucestershire, in October.
Rosie was introduced to Harry by a mutual friend three years ago.
