Scottish horse transporter awarded the Royal Warrant

  • A horse transporter in Scotland has been awarded the Royal Warrant.

Kelso-based Eric Gillie Ltd has been transporting The Queen’s private horses around her residences in the UK for seven years.

“We move horses between Sandringham and Windsor, and the Highland stud at Balmoral,” said Michael Gillie, son of Eric who set up the transporting business with his wife, Jane, in 1975.

“We transport The Queen’s horses around the country,” he added.

The family-run firm was awarded the Royal Warrant 1 January 2010.

It is currently having the coat of arms put on its horse transporters which include five state-of-the-art Oakley boxes.
