Locals in Fayette County, Georgia, USA, are appealing for information after a horse was shot three times with arrows, suffering serious injuries.
Misty, an eight-year-old rescue horse, was discovered standing on her owner’s farm with arrows sticking out of her spine, face and neck.
“She was scared to death and wouldn’t let us catch her,” neighbour Rachel Byrd told local news. “You could tell in her eyes she was in a lot of pain and very scared.”
A vet worked on Misty for four hours to remove the arrows. Although she is now recovering, owner Nancy Padovano has been warned that Misty could suffer from bone disease as a result of the attack.
The Georgia Outdoor Network and the Atlanta Humane Society are offering a $6,000 reward on offer for any information leading to an arrest and conviction.
