  • The funeral of top showing steward Dennis Fisher will be held next Wednesday in Surrey.

Dennis Fisher passed away in his sleep while stewarding at HOYS on 9 October. He had fought a long battle with cancer.

Mr Fisher was one of the country’s top showing stewards, and only this July was honoured with the 2009 Dorian Williams award, for a lifetime achievement to the showing world, at the Royal International Horse Show.

Dennis’s funeral will be held on 28 October at Holy Trinity Church, Bramley, Surrey, at 11am, and afterwards at Hurtwood Polo Club.

Everyone is welcome. Family flowers only, donations welcome to the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund, and/or the Royal Marsden Cancer Trust.
