Woman injured when horse spooked by swarm of bees

  • A 70-year-old American woman has been injured in a fall from her horse, when it was spooked by a swarm of bees.

Donna Tewksbury from Portland, Oregon, was airlifted to hospital. She is reported to be in a stable condition.

Ms Tewksbury was riding with four others on the Pacific Crest Trail on Sunday (27 September) when the horses were spooked by the bees.

Her horse slipped and fell. It then trod on Ms Tewksbury as it got to its feet.

    The horse was not hurt.
