A boy has died and a girl has been injured in two separate donkey incidents this week.
A four-year-old boy in America died after falling from a donkey.
The child’s foot became caught in the stirrup as he fell and he was dragged along the ground.
The accident happened at about 7.15pm on Sunday (17 May) in Wales Township, Michigan.
His parents chased and caught the fleeing donkey, but the child was unresponsive when they got to him.
He was taken to a local hospital and later flown to Hurley Medical Centre in Flint, where he was pronounced dead.
And in South Columbia a donkey bit off the ear off a five-year-old girl.
The girl was playing with friends in the town of Tolu when the donkey attacked her.
The donkey grabbed the child by the left ear lifting her off the ground — before dropping her, ripping off her ear.
The animal then started kicking the child, knocking her unconscious.
The girl has lost her ear but her hearing appears to be unaffected.
