A performance of classical equitation set to live music played by the world famous Henschel String Quartet is to be staged at the Pine Lodge School of Classical Equitation in Norfolk on Wednesday 22 July.
It will be inspired by the traditional Viennese New Year’s Day concerts — where Lipizzaner stallions of the Spanish Riding School perform to music.
Pine Lodge’s Iberian Lusitano horses will display the arts of classical dressage, in a series of routines, to the melodies to the quartet.
The event came about when members of the quartet, who have been dubbed the ‘giants of chamber music’, saw Pine Lodge’s Lusitanos horses in action and suggested a collaboration.
Pine Lodge School is one of the few places in the world to teach Classical Equitation in the tradition of masters such as Francois Robichon de la Gueriniere (1688-1751).
The performance is from 10.3am until 12.30 at the Pine Lodge School, Stoke Holy Cross, Norwich.
Entrance prices are: adults £15, children £5, family £30, children under 5 free. For info and tickets call 07765 000869 or go to www.pinelodge-school.co.uk or www.henschel-quartett.de
