The owner of a pony that washed up dead on a beach near Eastbourne is being sought by authorities in the town.
The small black pony was found on the beach on at Cuckmere Haven at Seaford in East Sussex.
Ponies graze wild on nearby Seaford Head and Wealden District Council believes the pony may have been washed down the Cuckmere River during recent flooding.
The pony is believed to be 10-15 years old and unshod with overgrown hooves.
