Farmer kicked to death by horse: accidental death rules coroner

  • An inquest at Llangefni has heard how a farmer died after being kicked by a horse.

William Henry Williams, 63, from Caergeiliog, near Holyhead in Anglesey was found dead in a field at his farm last August.

Mr Williams had been on his way to see the doctor when he saw the chestnut mare struggling in the field at his farm. It is thought that the horse had become stuck in barbed wire and Mr Williams was trying to free it.

There were no witnesses but the horse was found with several cuts and Mr Williams was lying near a wall topped with barbed wire.

The verdict was recorded as accidental death by coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones.
