France bids for 2014 World Equestrian Games

  • FRANCE has formally applied to host the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in 2014.

The French Equestrian Federation has officially submitted a plan to the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) for Deauville in Normandy, the venue that hosted the 2008 Eventing World Cup in September, to be the base for the event.

Horse Sport Ireland announced earlier this month it would not be bidding for WEG, as did the British Equestrian Federation.

The FEI will announce the venue in April.
