Olympia gets more TV airtime than ever before

  • The BBC is to give more airtime to Olympia, the London International Horse Show, this year than ever before — both on mainstream channels and via the digital red-button service.

Digital coverage will start at 9pm on Friday, 19 December, with the Accenture Christmas puissance.

The entire evening performance on Monday, 22 December will be broadcast from 6.45pm.

Highlights of the puissance will be shown on BBC1 on the Saturday, and the FEI World Cup show jumping qualifier on Sunday will be broadcast live.

There will also be around half an hour of other action from Olympia including the Shetland pony grand national and other displays.

“With interactive, we’ll be getting more coverage than ever before, and with digital numbers rapidly increasing, our audience is potentially huge,” said Olympia spokesman Kelly Smith.
