Glastonbury will be launching a new type of security at this year’s festival — ‘horse-cams’.
The Somerset festival, which will feature acts including Jay Z and Massive Attack, will be patrolled by police horses wearing cameras.
The cameras will be attached to the harnesses of police horses walking around the festival site this weekend (27-29 June) in an attempt to cut crime.
Although full details will not be given until the official launch on Friday, a spokesman for Avon and Somerset police told H&H: “We are always looking to use new technology and if the ‘horse-cams’ are a success at Glastonbury then we may use them at other public events.”
