British Dressage (BD) chief executive David Holmes is leaving the organisation to become executive director of sport with the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
Mr Holmes, who has headed BD for nine years, takes up his role with the FEI in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 1 September.
He will lead the FEI sports department, managing its planning, financial and operational activities. Among other duties he will monitor liaison with the International Olympic Committee and coordinate the World Equestrian Games.
“The past nine years at BD have been challenging, rewarding and incredibly enjoyable,” said Mr Holmes. “The FEI role is a great opportunity to apply the ideas and skills I have learnt on the world stage.”
