Section C stallion Bryncarreg Lightning Jack was chosen from 800 entries in the Lampeter Welsh Breeds Show to take the supreme title.
Bryncarreg Lightning Jack is a son of Nebo Bouncer, who has been Lampeter champion on no less than six occasions.
Jack’s joint owner Shirley Williams spotted him as a yearling at the 2002 Royal Welsh Show and bought him with Wayne Groucott of the Hafodyrynys Stud, where he now stands at stud.
Reserve supreme was the section A stallion Vervale Galileo owned by the Johnson family from Ireland, owners of the former champion Friars Super Ted. Galileo, sired by sire ratings top sire Springbourne Caraway, was a consistent winner in youngstock classes when owned by his breeder, Mr Barry Shepherd of the Vervale Stud.
