Mitsubishi Motors has pledged £5,000 to the winner of the Stately Home Challenge.
The event rider who achieves the most points when competing in The Mitsubishi Motors Stately Home Challenge Intermediate sections at five events this year will win this new prize.
Mitsubishi has supported this challenge for the past three years awarding the winner the use of a Mitsubishi vehicle for 12 months. Previous winners include Nick Gauntlett, Charlie Pickman and, most recently, Andrew Nicholson.
Run under British Eventing rules, each rider can only carry forward their highest score from each event, thus making this unique challenge a level playing field for one-horse riders and professionals.
Qualifying events will be held once more at Somerley Park in March, Longleat Safari Park in June and Wilton House in July. There will also be a new qualifying section at the inaugural Powderham Castle horse trials held in April. The grand final will run at Highclere Castle on August 25th where the £5,000 prize money will be awarded to the winner, as well as many other attractive prizes such as two tickets to the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
