North Staffordshire Hunt donates £10,000 to Air Ambulance

  • The North Staffordshire Hunt has donated £10,000 to the County Air Ambulance.

The hunt’s commitment the Air Ambulance service — funded entirely on donations — is in part due to the recent death of Mike Slater.

Last month, North Staffordshire member Mike Slater sustained spinal injuries after falling from his horse while hunting at Norton-in-Hales. He was airlifted to hospital but died several days later.

In 2003, Mr Slater was airlifted to hospital after being involved in another riding accident. He credited the County Air Ambulance with saving his life that day and had since taken part in various fundraising activities for the charity.
