Riding for the disabled horse Bailey retires to The Horse Trust

  • A 24-year-old horse, who has spent the last 15 years working with children with special needs, has retired to The Horse Trust in Buckinghamshire.

Heathrow Farm, close to the airport, is a registered charity and a Riding for the Disabled centre where 16.2hh, Hanovarian cross bay gelding Bailey was used to give handicapped youngsters the enjoyment and physiotherapy riding offers.

Farm manager Kirstie Wilde said: “His gentle nature and willingness to do anything that was asked of him made him many friends.

“We will miss Bailey, but are very grateful to The Horse Trust for offering him the retirement and relaxation he so truly deserves for the rest of his days.”

Visitors are welcome at The Horse Trust’s Home of Rest for Horses near Princes Risborough, from 2pm to 4pm each day of the week. Tel: 01494 488464 or email: info@horsetrust.org.uk
