Show jumper Georgie Bray in hospital after breaking neck in fall

  • Show jumper Georgie Bray is recovering in hospital after breaking her neck and fracturing her skull in a fall from her horse Quota PPZ on 1 February.

Georgie, aged 22, won last year’s Blue Chip Elevator Discovery Championships.

The Reading-based rider was training at home when Quota PPZ fell, landing on her.

Berkshire Air ambulance airlifted her to the spinal unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

It was discovered there that she had a fracture to the occipital portion of her skull and had broken the first vertebrae.

Her partner Simon Flat said they want everyone to know that Georgie has not been paralysed by the fall and it is hoped she will make a full recovery.

    Quota PPZ was uninjured.
