Polly Stocktons ride Tom Quigley, who lies third overnight, was held at the final trot-up this morning at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.
But the bay was passed on re-inspection, as was Dee Kennedys Big El (40th overnight), who was also held.
Pip Peterss ride Upward Trend (42nd) and Louise Skeltons Partly Pickled (45th) were both withdrawn from the holding box.
J-P Sheffield was the best-placed competitor who did not present, withdrawing Crown Farm Consort, who lay 24th. Bryony Wilson withdrew Briarlands Firewood (39th) and Dan Jocelyn pulled out Maraitai (48th).
The first session of show jumping starts at 11am, with the second session, for the top 24, beginning at 2.25pm.
