Ewart Woolley and Keep Your Options Open secured a narrow victory in the closely fought Smith & Williamson-sponsored CIC** at Longleat.
Ewart finished on the same final score as Gary Foggon, riding his own Bonny Bank Jay Jay. But Ewart took the top spot by virtue of finishing closer to the optimum time. Dressage leader Laura Collett was third on Rayef.
Andrew Nicholson dominated the intermediate classes, winning the open intermediate (Flush Banker), taking first and second in intermediate section P (Avebury and Stormhill Kossack), and finishing second in section N (Trafalgar).
William Fox-Pitt and Moon Man were beaten into second place by Andrew, with Beanie Sturgiss Monarchs Rock in third.
Twenty-year-old Freddie De Giles won section N with Antonia Elliot and the Arscotts Chapel Amble to prevent Andrew’s clear sweep.
