Hambleden Horse Trials


  • Tristram Owers and the one-eyed Briarlands Blackberry proved unbeatable in open intermediate section U at Hambleden Horse Trials. They finished more than two points ahead of Ireland’s Jonty Evans and Flamenco Star.

    Emily Baldwin won open intermediate section T with Drivetime, ahead of young rider European Champion Amy Young with Sam Barr’s Baby Welton.

    Nottingham Trent University lecturer Sam York riding Skidaddle took intermediate section R, ahead of Ali Storer and Highland Tiger.

    Andrew Hoy (pictured) won intermediate section P with his wife Bettina and Linda Mars’s Witch Doctor IV.

    Bill Levett claimed intermediate section Q with Frederick Luigi, while Zoe Gullett took the final section with the former racehorse Litchanine.

    Emily Llewellyn, 17, finished first and third in the under-21 open intermediate with Society Spice and Pardon Me II respectively. Second was Lissa Green and Pick And Mix II.
