A Leicestershire hunting man is planning to blow a hunting horn from the top of a 5,000m unclimbed peak in Kyrgyzstan. If successful, it will be the highest blow for home in history.
Benjamin Elson, 30, who hunts regularly with the Belvoir, is climbing in aid of the Adam Cole Foundation, a registered charity that supports the building of relief centres in Cambodia. He intends to name the peak after his friend Adam Cole, who died last year.
Mr Elson estimates it will take five days to reach the summit. Friends will be able to listen to him play the hunting horn over a satellite phone.
“I was considering wearing my top hat as well,” he told H&H.
