Steven Smith leads Irish Eventing Super League


  • Steven Smith leads the Blue Grass Irish Eventing Super League, after winning the second leg at Tyrella, County Down last weekend (30 March).

    Riding Ringford Rara Ruby, Smith finished on his dressage score of 30.4pen in the open immediate level competition, to take first place ahead of his second ride Fernando and Jayne Doherty on Art Attack.

    In the overall league standings, Steven Smith and Rara Ruby are in pole position, followed closely by husband and wife riders Michael Ryan and Patricia Ryan (nee Donegan) in joint second place, on Dances with Wolves and Fernhill Clover Mist respectively. Steven Smith holds fourth place on Fernando and Jayne Doherty is in fifth place with Art Attack.

    The Super League continues on 13 May at Kilmanaham with another open intermediate class, before the first advanced intermediate at Ballincoola on 22 July.
