The Scottish Equestrian Association (SEA) has received £82,000 from sportscotland to invest in coaching, talent development and volunteers. A further £4,500 has been allocated for equestrian sports equipment.
Scotland’s 15 top young potential Olympic riders will benefit from the money, as well as club and volunteer coaches and those training for the BEF UK Coaching Certificate.
“We are delighted with the funding, ” said Muriel Colquhoun MBE, executive director of the SEA. “The continued funding from sportscotland is a great boost for riders in Scotland and will also ensure our member bodies will continue to have support with their own specific projects. “
The SEA’s 24 member bodies, which includes the Pony Club, British Eventing Scotland and Riding for the Disabled Scotland, can apply for grants for training, equipment and competitions.
“A huge variety of projects have taken place throughout the years in Scotland thanks to sportscotland funding,” said Muriel Colquhoun.
