Following two separate doping offences in 2005, show jumper Robert Magiure is again eligible for Olympic selection after a successful appeal at the British Olympic Association (BOA).
Robert, 27, was banned for three months by the International Equestrian Federation last autumn after his top horse, Two Mills Showtime, tested positive for two different banned substances within the space of three months in 2005.
Though the suspension had since expired, Robert remained ineligible for selection for the Olympics. But at a meeting of the BOA appeals panel last week, Robert’s eligibility for team GB was restored immediately.
The panel expressed its concerns that the two offences had occurred within such a short time, but noted neither was an attempt to affect the performance of Two Mills Showtime.
